Most salespeople get stuck in a reactive selling cycle that looks like this:

Receive an incoming customer problem

Solve the problem

Receive another incoming customer problem

Solve the problem

That continues to happen day in and day out.

The problem is, when you’re always putting out fires you don’t have time to invest in creating or closing new opportunities.

It’s one of the reasons many salespeople struggle to hit their sales target.

Not only does it eat into their time, but it impacts their mindset.

They’re constantly dealing with problems.

That constant source of negativity has an impact.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

I cover this in great depth in my book “5-Minute Selling”, but here is my advice for today.

Take control of your day.

Make PROACTIVE calls first.

Deal with your happy customers and opportunities first.

Start your day with positivity, not only will you start to feed your pipeline again, but you’ll also be in a better position to deal with your problems later on.

Don’t fall into the vicious reactive cycle.

Take control of your day and make it a positive proactive one.
