Middlefield, CT — —Lyman Orchards, a family-owned popular destination for over 280 years, is again hosting the Dazzling L.I.F.F.E. Lantern Festival, a holiday attraction that features more than 400 illuminated lantern displays. This year marks the second consecutive year that Lyman Orchards has hosted the event.
Running December 14, 2022 through January 31, 2023, and situated along a winding half-mile walking path, the Festival offers an enchanting and sparkling wonderland of animals, insects, reptiles, and plant life inspired by the 2,000-year-old Asian art of lantern making. Each larger-than-life lantern is masterfully handcrafted using thousands of colored LED lights-including a newly added 26-foot-tall Statue of Liberty, 120-foot-long Chinese Dragon, and a 15-foot-tall Phoenix. An event soundtrack dramatically brings each unique section to life.
"We're excited to welcome this amazing cultural experience back to Lyman Orchards," says Becky Critchley, Director of Business Development for Lyman Orchards. "Last year's Lantern Festival attendance topped 22,000, and we expect the new additions to this year's display to captivate and awe even more visitors. We consider this to be famly entertainment of unsurpassed beauty and magic."
Guests of all ages are welcome to experience this enchanting attraction. Beginning December 10, the Dazzling L.I.F.F.E. Lantern Festival is open every evening from dusk until 10pm (last entry 9:30pm); visitors are encouraged to dress for the weather. Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the event.
